The Challenge
One of the Singapore Emergency Medical Service Centre operates 24/7 and is always ready to respond to any medical emergency in Singapore.
Having a well-equipment and healthy medical stocks level in their stores enable a quick turnaround for each emergency vehicles when the vehicles are back for reloading of certified equipment and replenishing of medical items.
Having a conventional medical store, stock take was carried out every week to prevent any stockout and often than not, medical personnel ordered more than 2-3 months stocks to ensure healthy stock level. Thus, store floor area was getting bigger with more slow-moving expired medical items being disposed. Personnel had to manually input the item’s details and quantity took, slowing down the process.
The Solution
After a few sites’ surveys and understanding the operations requirements, a Facial-Recognition Weighing Scales Smart Shelves was implemented. Each shelf will have a camera to log/trace the medical personnel withdrawal of items when medical items were taken.
This facial recognition system is also a contactless system, minimizing the exposure of contamination on any surface or to any personnel. DrK Automated Inventory System - DrK eLockers will send notifications (sms or email) in the event when item’s quantity is low or expired. Daily, weekly or monthly inventory reports can be configured and send to warehouse for records. |
The Results
With the implementation of the DrK Automated Inventory System, the below benefits had been achieved:
